Hi, there was some problem getting this posted last week, but better late than
never...

Nortel is actively implementing SRTP and appropriate key management protocols
into our products. We view this as an important component of a secure
solution.

We do believe that MIKEY is the right protocol for SRTP key management, but
more work needs to be done for MIKEY to be widely deployable. As you might be
aware, the SDP key management framework to carry MIKEY messages is still in
IESG review at the IETF. Nortel engineers are contributing to a new MIKEY mode
that will help resolve many deployment issues (please see the minutes of the
MSEC meeting at IETF-62, and feel free to participate in the discussion in the
MSEC mailing list). Other work to make MIKEY more efficient is also underway
in the MSEC working group.

In addition to our IETF work, Nortel engineers are working with ATIS PRQC to
introduce SRTP as the preferred protocol for media encryption. Similarly,
TR41.4, with Nortel contributions, has just finished drafting an standard about
to go to ballot (IS 811-A). This standard has SRTP as the protocol for media
encryption.
